ALPHA MISSION

I recently ran a series of quick visual tests for a shooter project I’ve been developing. The initial inspiration came from SNK’s Alpha Mission , particularly its transforming ship mechanic based on item pickups. Before exploring functionality at that level, I focused on experimenting with different silhouettes, proportions, and overall design direction for the ship itself.

The goal was to find a style that felt grounded and believable, while still delivering a strong, memorable presence on screen. These explorations represent some of the early results. I’ve since started revisiting the project and plan to continue refining the concept until the right visual and gameplay direction fully comes together.

PLAYER SHIP // Unreal Engine

Several exploratory renders in the unreal engine to help further get a sense of the form and massing of the ship along with a top down image of what it will actually be viewed from camera wise in the actual game.

Was just curious so also began playing witha more cell shaded rendering style to have it feel more like an old school saturday morning cartoon. Just for fun :)
