Jellyfish and other Ambient Sealife

I gathered and textured a variety of ambient fish and other sea creatures to populate the seafloor and provide subtle, dynamic movement in shots as needed. Most of the work focused on the jellyfish, which required a more detailed approach for shots where they served as hero elements. The design was inspired by the Palau Lake jellyfish, and included careful attention to translucency, movement, and "jelly" qualities to ensure they read believably on screen while integrating seamlessly with the environment.

Seafloor Environment Lookev

I spent time developing a range of procedural shader materials intended to support the creation of a large-scale seafloor environment. These materials were designed to be flexible and efficient, allowing them to be used for background shots as the Nautilus traveled above the ocean floor, as well as in other sequences where the same visual treatment helped support the composition. The goal was to achieve consistency across shots while maintaining enough variation to keep the environment from feeling repetitive.
