Surrounding steps and wall reliefs.

Looking up at to the upper rafters.

Approaching the mausoleum.

This building was to once belong to Myrkul, previous god of the dead. His is described as being a four armed skeletal creature. Once again, D&D is not at the top of my knowledge tree, but it was very interesting to talk with people who were hip to this knowledge and get their hand in better understanding the subject.
Designed to be large mausoleum, it is very large in scale compared to the player. It's outer edges are adorned with mosaics and reliefs depicting men, women, and children in various forms of suffering (pretty morbid :x ). Large reliefs of four armed women holding skulls stare out from behind large candles decorating the building. The entrance door is covered with the writhing forms of people reaching out to the player as they enter. All of these centered around a giant skeletal statue representation of Myrkul himself. I also created some skeletal sphinx statues to add a flare to the surroundings.
I am pretty familiar in building environmental assets, but because of the tight constraints on Mask of the Betrayer, I was put almost exclusively on characters. This building was really fun as it was a cool opportunity to take a break from character creation and make something really big and hopefully memorable in the game.
